Week TWO!

Happy Sunday, 5DL families!

We had a fabulous week.  Here’s a glimpse at some of the things we did!

*STEM Challenges:

-Children worked in groups to create the tallest tower out of index cards

-Teams worked together on finding numbers cooperatively in a math 100 

group challenge activity

-We played three math games to help with fact fluency (Yahtsee, 24 and 

Salute!)

*Goals:

  -We set goals each morning to help us all learn the ways 5DL will run smoothly

-Our first goal this week was around continuing smooth transitions

-Our second goal was around more focused listening

-Our third goal was around less side talking

*Projects:

-We completed our Personal Posters

-We finished our Identity Webs

*Community:

-We continued this week with whole group 5DL morning meetings

*Read Aloud:

-Make sure to ask your child about Scar Island by Dan Gemeinhart

*Important Dates

-Picture day is this Thursday 9/12

-Open House is October 3rd
