Week of 1/28-2/1

5DL Blog for the week of January 28- February 1

Dear Parents,,

As you may have heard from your child, we are planning to celebrate Global School Play Day on Wednesday, February 6th. We feel strongly that students need to have opportunities to unplug and connect with their peers for extended unstructured play. There are almost 300,000 students across the world who are registered for this event, so we are not alone!

Students may bring in a toy (or set) from home. This needs to be a toy that your child is willing to share with others. We also recommend choosing something that is durable and not valuable, because sometimes things get broken.

Please use these lists as guidelines when helping your child decide what to bring. Your child always has the option to not bring anything at all! We have many games and activities already available at school.

Suggested Items
Do Not Bring
Dress-up Clothes
Figurines
Stuffed animals
Board games
Legos/ Blocks
Card Games
Arts and craft supplies
Origami or other specialty paper
Clay/ play dough/ model magic
Blankets/sheets for fort building
No bake baking supplies
Electronics
Anything with batteries
Video games
Delicate or fragile items
Toy weapons (including Nerf guns)
Valuable or sentimental items
Sports equipment

We are looking forward to this exciting day!
