Happy end of WEEK ONE!

Happy end of the first week to all our 5DL families!

We feel so fortunate to have this group!  They have been amazing in being role models, showing kindness and taking risks in the community!  Here’s a snapshot as to all the wonderful things we accomplished this week!

Love, Mrs. Loh and Mrs. DeLello

*STEM Challenges:
-Peaches Ahead: groups worked together with limited supplies to create a
contraption that could be worn on the top of their heads
-They then participated in a relay race where each team member had to
transport the peach down the blacktop and back!
-Tennis Balls Aloft: groups worked together to build the tallest tower possible
that could hold a tennis ball on top.
-STEM Activities focused on teamwork, what helps/what hurts, being an
active participant, listening to others ideas as well as staying on task.

*Goals:
-We set goals each morning to help us all learn the ways 5DL will run smoothly
-Our first goal was around ACTIVE LISTENING
-Our second goal was around SMOOTH TRANSITIONS
-Our third transition was around CLASSROOM CARE

calm the mind

*Identity:
-Began discussing what identity is/means
-Read “Why Am I Me?” and discussed what makes us each unique as
individuals
-Worked on identity webs to represent who we are

-Students have been encouraged to greet, compliment and have
Conversations
-Our 2 classes begin the day outside and focus on being role models for the
younger students
