Week of April 4-8

Hello Families and Friends of 5D,

It was great to see many of you last week and this week at parent conferences. I've got a few more scheduled for next week. Sitting at each conference made me realize how quickly this year has gone. I'm already getting teary for June to come.... Get me the tissues!

This week looked a little different. We started the Revolutionary War play planning. We have four narrators, and ten events with four members each. Narrators have been busy writing each and every day. All other groups researched their event, mapped out a plan with historical figures, perspectives and a story arc, then got right to work on their script.

SAVE THE DATE!

As of right now, the students in 5D and 5H will act out the play on Thursday, April 21st around 1:30 in the cafe.

The testing is going well. Thank you for having such a positive influence on your child around this testing. Each student is taking it very seriously by working hard and taking their time. Thank you for sending your child in with healthy snacks too! I was impressed with the reports on how much sleep each got as well!

Jeff Warner is coming to visit next week. He will work with all five, fifth grade classes around 19 century folk music in New England. Here's an article that was recently published to enjoy.

Just a note: we've definitely had our share of illness in 5D. When emailing me about your child, feel free to CC Nurse Lilly on it as well. It's so helpful to her to know what is going on in each grade level. Her email is elacasse@sau16.org. Thank you!
