- Students looked closely at Europe pre exploration
- Students noticed many similarities and differences between Europe and the Americas
- Worked in pairs to create a Venn-Doodle-Gram
- We are onto Africa, our final world next week

Literacy
- Students "Dreamed the Dream" of an important moment in their life through the five senses
- Ask them all about Mrs. Loh's and my dog story along with the music video we watched
- Book browsing for our first unit took place mid week for our first unit
- Book clubs met to talk about a contract, schedule as well as calendar
- Look for their book to come home each night to keep up with their book group
- We also had a Poetry Slam at the "DeLoh Cafe"! Make sure to ask your child about it!
Math
- We worked hard on standard, expanded and word form of decimals
- Some used manipulatives to make connections
- Continued onto comparing, ordering and rounding decimals
- Powers of ten was touched upon
- Ask your child how the self guided "Math Menu" is going for them
- We played games on Friday to boost our decimal skills
Technology
- Mr. Burch came in for his second out of 4 digital citizenship lessons
Important! Students will be going outside for a photography unit in Art. They should dress warm and wear appropriate shoes for Art next Wednesday.
