Well, testing is officially over and boy, does it feel good to have it behind us! I was incredibly proud of how the students stayed positive and hard working throughout.
Here are some things we did beyond testing....
Literacy
- Fantasy book clubs are in full swing
- We've looked at setting, learning alongside the characters, character problems and suspending judgment of a character
Social Studies
- Read more from King George: What was his Problem?
- Brainstormed ideas with 5L about how to showcase our learning... with a PLAY!
- Students started working on a timeline in pairs that will focus on perspectives
Math
- Students are in teams to create a math video around a concept they learned this year

BOSTON FIELD TRIP
I've chosen two parents to go on the bus for the field trip. They are Mrs. Gorman and Mr. Parmelee. Thank you to many of you for offering to chaperone but I only have two extra spots on the bus. If you want to join us down at the Boston Tea Party Museum, make sure to get there before the bus as some parents were NOT allowed in last year. If you plan to meet us at Boston Common, we eat lunch right across from Park Street. Meet us there. We will do the Freedom Trail from there after lunch. Also, if you plan on taking your child home from any point on this field trip, the office MUST have a signed permission slip to do so. I can send one home with your child. Fingers crossed for nice weather for next Thursday.
